Raising the circularity ambition of the electric mobility transition

CiBiX Challenge: Raising the circularity ambition of the electric mobility transition

19 November – Barcelona (Spain)

The shift to electric vehicles is underway – transforming urban mobility systems with the promise of confronting climate change and improving air quality. Yet cities face growing concerns over the environmental and resource impacts of such as recyclability of key parts of e-vehicles or the overall lifecycle impacts of e-mobility infrastructure are hindering the overall sustainability of this transition. By looking at the different life stages of products and infrastructures, the circular economy offers cities and businesses an opportunity to collaborate on the sustainability of e-mobility services and infrastructures.

In this interactive workshop, private sector representatives and city practitioners will look at how business solutions can operationalize circular economy principles in e-mobility services and infrastructures. The workshop will focus on three key areas:

  • Circular design and procurement;
  • Circular use models;
  • Circular end-of-life planning.
